PHYSICAL THERAPY

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical therapy services are available for those with a doctor's prescription. Therapy services may be indicated for treatment of orthopedic injuries, post-operative procedures such as knee or hip replacement, arthritic conditions, and joint pain. Manual treatment, various modalities and specific therapeutic exercises are utilized to treat conditions as indicated.

WELLNESS VISITS WITH A PHYSICAL THERAPIST

These services are for those who may not need direct medical attention but seek preventative maintenance or have pain/movement concerns. A physical therapist will thoroughly assess all injuries, listen to areas of concern and establish physical fitness goals. These services do not require a prescription and are therefore not covered by insurance.

SPECIALIZED MODALITIES

BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING- We use KAATSU intermittent B.F.R. air bands to enhance blood flow from your limbs back to your heart. The increase in lactate created by B.F.R. training is key to improving strength without placing excess stress on joints with heavy weights and extensive repetitions.

ELECTRICAL STIMULATION- E-stim therapy for muscle recovery sends signals to targeted muscles to make them contract,  improving blood flow and helping repair injured muscles. Electrical stimulation can block pain receptors from being sent from nerves to the brain, reducing pain.

ULTRASOUND- In physical therapy, ultrasound is used to transfer energy to deep tissues without affecting tissues close to the surface. The effect of ultrasound helps to heal muscle pain and reduce chronic inflammation.

DRY CUPPING-  Cupping involves the PT using cups across different areas to lift and separate tissue. The suction involved encourages improved circulation, stimulates the lymphatic system, improves fascial mobility which promotes healing and pain reduction.

ALLEN'S CUSTOM ORTHOTICS

Oftentimes certain foot types lead to functional changes such as over-pronation during walking and running sports, leg length differences, "shin splints", hip pain, lower back pain, toe pain, lateral foot pain and more. Custom orthotics are capable of successfully managing all of these foot types and helping the resulting conditions.

Custom orthotics can control excessive motion or abnormal foot positions (e.g., flat feet, high arches), improve shock absorption and alter lower extremity mechanics to reduce stress of feet, ankles, knees, hips and lower back.

THE PROCESS:

-Licensed PT performs examination, taking specific measurements of foot and ankle for an orthotic prescription.

-The feet are casted in a specific alignment to aid in the design of the orthotics.

-The therapist selects from an assortment of materials customized for the individual's needs

-The casts are shipped off where they are manufactured and shipped back for fitting.

-The patient is instructed in fitting and proper wear. Any necessary modifications needed for comfort can be made as need at no extra charge.

Our orthotics are made specifically for each individual to effectively align your body to function optimally.
